Microsoft Surface Update
While researching a project for a client, I run into content I had worked on earlier for a project with a school involving Microsoft Surface in 2010.
As is typical of me, I visited the site, downloaded the toolkit and went about reading the Development Template.
Besides the various known issues that were discussed in the readme, I stillĀ felt that this was a great product. Here is why:
1.Interactivity
2.Portability
3.Rich Learning Experience (iPad anyone?)
The last point is probably why I did not pursue this development as much. The success of the iPad has taken the bite out of this application as it is much easier and popular to build interactive applications around the apple iPad.
Lastly, the cost of acquiring the touch screen ($6,000 in 2010) was out of our budget at the time.
Hopefully, Microsoft 8 and theĀ push to enhance touch screen computing will enable a wider audience to appreciate the application.
